Join Sue and John Culligan in their old stone farmhouse in the heart of the Charente-Maritime. La Verderie is situated just outside the sleepy town of Brizambourg, 16 kms from St Jean d'Angely, 19 kms from Cognac and 20 kms from Saintes. The comfortable accommodation consists of a twin room with ensuite shower and toilet on the ground floor and one double or twin room with private sitting room, shower and toilet on the first floor (these two rooms can also be let as  a family suite). There is a large sitting room and small enclosed courtyard which guests are welcome to use. Table d'hote is available on request.

La Verderie is the perfect place for a quiet break, the small farming community is surrounded by vineyards, sunflowers and woodland. For the more energetic the deserted leafy lanes are ideal for running, walking and cycling, or just relax in the sunny courtyard with a  glass of wine. We are child and pet friendly,  well behaved dogs are welcome to stay with our  Golden Retriever  Be Bop.

Gites - For self-catering accommodation we can also offer a seven bedroom gite (sleeps 12) just the other side of Brizambourg. This lovely old barn conversion has plenty of space with a large garden and outdoor swimming pool.
